Happy 1st Birthday Miss Tickle

Evening Everyone
I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by.
It seems only yesterday that I was in Stoke celebrating the birth of a very special young lady, my youngest granddaughter Emma.
And here we are exactly a year later celebrating her 1st birthday.
She is such a cheeky little thing,
always full of smiles. Although I do wish that she would sleep through the night for her poor Mum.
Becki has organized a party for her at the weekend so we are going to give her all of her presents and cards then. Parties are for the grownups at this age so I can't see her minding if she has to wait for them.
We did celebrate on her behalf with a very nice chocolate cake.
Couldn't find a candle so a tealight had to do lol.
Happy Birthday Emma.
Hugs and kisses from us All
Love Mam-ma xx

Wrap over/around cards for WoodwareWitterings.

Good morning Everyone,
I hope that you are still enjoying the weather. (This is a scheduled post so I do hope that the sun is still shining and that we are not wading our way through several inches of rain water lol)
Today it is my turn to share a Wrap over/around card for WoodwareWitterings.
Now I must admit that sometimes Dorothy's choices for us really stump me, but then I guess that is exactly what a challenge is supposed to do, make you think.
I couldn't come up with a fancy card shape, so I stuck with a very literal interpretation and created a parcel out of stamped images which I 'wrapped around' with ribbon.
My parcel was created using an old Christmas stamp, versamark and some mica powders.
I stamped the image four times and cut away the ribbons at the top of the image before mounting them onto blue card stock. I wrapped the parcel with a double layer of white ribbon and added a tag urging you not to open it till Christmas.
As usual I have created a couple more cards to share with you using the same stamp set,
or a similar 'wrapped around' technique.
I am itching to see what the rest of the DT have come up with this week, so why not join in with the fun and see what you can create.
Happy stamping and hugs

Summer for CraftyCardmakers

Afternoon All
It's time for a new challenge over at CCM where Bec is our host looking for anything related to Summer.
I have chosen to make a card with a bright summery background created from a patchwork of hexagons.
I covered a sheet of double sided sticker paper with white punched hexagons which I then stamped and white embossed with butterflies.
I coloured the entire panel with Brushos and added some random background stamping.
Because I wanted the background to remain the focus of the card I used a black die cut floral panel over the top of it and then layered the whole thing onto red card stock.
This card was made with a leftover strip, some co-ordinating background paper and die cut flowers.
I hope that you will join us HERE for our Summer inspired challenge.
Lets hope that the weather continues to reflect our chosen challenge, although maybe if I'm honest perhaps not quite so hot. I do like it bright, don't get me wrong, but I do struggle in this heat.
So happy crafting,
Kimx

Thank You

Afternoon Everyone,
I can't believe where this year is disappearing to.
It is already the end of another school year which means that it is time for all those Thank You cards.
I recently taught a class that was based around using hexagons.
Now there are some classes where I really get carried away with all of the ideas that I have found,
and this was one of them, so I used one of the ideas to make this selection of cards for Saskia to give her Teachers and Classroom Assistants or TA as I think they are now referred.
The main panel on the card has been die cut from card which was then sanded or gilded with Gilding Wax and then mounted on to more of the same colour card.
'Thanks' and all of the florals are also die cuts.
This next set of cards made for Ciaran to give out were made from some stamped and embossed pieces from my bits box.
The stamp is an old Hero Arts one I think, stamped and embossed and then sponged with dye based inks.
It was also an opportunity to use up a few more bits and pieces from said bits box, it's just a shame that I never seem to make a dent in it, no matter how hard I try lol.
I had better get back to the craft room as my To Do List never seems to get any shorter either and I have DT samples to make as well as a very important birthday card for a special little someone.
Have a great day,
Happy Crafting and hugs

Summer Birthdays at WoodwareWitterings

Morning Everyone
It's my turn again over at WoodwareWitterings, where this week I hope we have been inspiring you to celebrate Summer Birthays.
I have used another of Jane Gill's new stamps JGS473 - Mixed Bunch for my card.
I stamped and embossed the image onto white cardstock and coloured it using dye based inks.
I carefully cut away the card around the right hand side of the image using a craft knife and metal edged ruler and then mat and layered it onto co-ordinating card stock.
I create a second card using the same colour combination,
just without any of the intricate cutting.
Both cards had a little bit of glitter glue added to them as well as some crystals on this second card.
I hope that you like them and feel inspired to create some summer birthday cards.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Happy Birthday Twinnies

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend.
It has been very hot and muggy here which I have found difficult to cope with. I'm such a woose when it comes to the weather.
Still at least the twins have had a grand time on their birthday........fantastic weather and a trip to Legoland.
I actually managed to get their cards made on time, which is quite an achievement for me lol.
Saskia's card was made with some old  toppers that I bought from LOTV.
As I had several all the same I decided on a bit of decoupage.
The circular matt around the image has been coloured with my Imagination Starlight paint.
I also used a little of the paint to tone down the background so that it matched the fairy a little more.
I have already shared Ciaran's card with you.
But this is another card that was delivered to our neighbour who also celebrates his birthday today.
Back to the grind tomorrow, and I really must try and get back to the gym.
I seem to have lost my mojo along with my gym buddy which means that I have to motivate myself! Never easy especially when it is so hot. I would much rather sit and play.
Bye for now.

Carried away with Paper Piecing

Hi All
I had a very nice couple of days in Peterboro at the end of last week.
I went up there so that I could attend the Doncaster show with a couple of 'Crafty' Buddies, but it also meant that I got to spend the day at SirStampalot with Janice and Andy.
Now I couldn't possibly spend the day in a craft shop without shopping, or doing a little bit of crafting. So having raided Janice's workshop I got down to a nice bit of paper piecing.
(The cards on the left were samples that I left for Janice from my previous trip in March)
I always take a couple of extra days off after a trip to Sirstampalot so that I can catch up on some sleep as well as some crafting, so I managed to put my paper pieced panels to good use and finished off six cards.
All this creative activity has also meant that I am actually way ahead of myself with a couple of cards.
I wonder if I will still manage to send them out late?
Will I remember that I have that special card already made come November? I jolly well hope so lol.
Of course that is the beauty of Paper Piecing, particularly with word stamps where the colours don't matter.
If you cut things out carefully then you end up with several finished panels, or is that I am just too mean to throw anything away?
In fact there was actually seven finished cards cause I used up the piece of scrap card with the first generation stamping on it from creating the background on some of the panels.
How sad am I lol.
I hope that you are having a great weekend full of crafting.

Good Luck with Woodware Witterings

Morning Everyone.
My turn again over at WoodwareWitterings where this week we are sharing Good Luck cards with you.
I have used my Dreamweaver Alphabet and Number Dies to create the Good Luck tiles.
I die cut the letters in both white and kraft card and then pieced them back together giving me two sets of letters.
The rest of the sentiment comes from an old stamp set FRCL 056 You Did It, and I created the flower out of heart stamps from another set JGS395 Wedding Hearts.
Of course as I had two sets of letters I just had to make a second card.
This time I used a couple of different stamps from FRCL056 You Did It.
I hope that you have been inspired by our offerings this week. Why not check out what the rest of the DT have been up to HERE.
Happy Stamping and Hugs

Bling It Up at Crafty Cardmakers

Morning All
I'm a little bit late with my post I'm afraid for the CraftyCardmakers latest challenge Bling It Up.
I had the perfect card for it as well, this one that I made for the latest Woodware Christmas stamp catalogue.
The central panel has been made using the fabulous JGS468 Berry Wreath which I stamped and embossed in black.
I have to say that it just screams out to be blinged up which I have done with glitter glues, nailheads and pearls.
The background papers are from a Craftwork Cards 8x8 paper pad Festive Chalkboard which I also used here to make a second card.
I hope that you will join us over the next fortnight, and don't forget to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have made to inspire you.
Bye for now.
